79% of us feel we have to put on a brave face when we are anxious, and 27% feel that showing our emotions is a sign of weakness.
Anxiety is a normal human emotion. So just like anger, it’s just something that everybody experiences from time to time. However, it is very helpful to understand your anxiety, where it is coming from in order to prevent it from growing into the less manageable states like panic attacks.
This mini-course is part of the series of courses we produce to help professionals at work understand, manage and prevent their stressed and anxious mental and emotional states.
In this particular mini-course Dr Kasia Wilk, Counselling Psychologist, will help you
- Build your personal Anxiety Map,
- Identify your stress/anxiety cycles,
- Understand what keeps you feeling stuck in the stressed or anxious state unable to resolve it.
Upon completion you will be able to answer the following questions:
- What/Who stresses you out the most today?
- What’s triggering you?
- What’s happening in your head and body when you are feeling stressed and anxious?
You will learn that your mind does not know the difference between real and imagined threat. You will also understand why trying to avoid rather than confront certain situations will only make things worse.
By the end of this mini-course: you will create your personal Anxiety Map, you will understand your anxiety or stress cycle and learn what keeps you getting stuck in that cycle and how you can potentially get out of it.
